A quick note

Stony Creek Audio came to be roughly 25 years after we hit record for the first time on a 4-track Tascam cassette recorder. Back in those days we didn’t concern ourselves with the production side of the music, we were primarily concerned with sounding great during gigs and jam sessions. As our chops developed and our song catalog of originals grew, we wanted to record and capture those moments.

If you are here reading this, then you know what most people who are outside of the industry probably don’ know. That being, it takes a lot of resources for an independent artist to share their creations with the world. It is a true labor of love and a financial commitment for someone to buy the gear, book the studio time and hire an audio engineer to mix it - All so you can put your music on some free streaming provider hoping the world gives it a listen.

We’ve been there, we’ve done it and it’s how we got here. If we are being honest, all those years ago we didn’t have the budget to do it all. And so it began little by little twenty something years ago with the purchase of Pro Tools 7, a few decent mics, and some JBL monitors. We’d record and mix our own music. Mix by mix, track by track, the mixes became better and better. The gear locker grew exponentially. We’ve read the books, we’ve read the manuals and we’ve taken the classes taught by working professionals all in pursuit of making our material sound great, or so we thought.

Somewhere along the way, what began as a necessity became a real love of the craft and we’ve been doing it since. Originally for us, now for you.

With that, if you have a project that you think is outside of the basic mixing schedule, please reach out. We’d love to discuss how we can bring your vision to life and work within your budget.

We know how exciting it is for a singer songwriter with nothing more than an acoustic guitar and vocal track to hear how great their creations can sound. It is empowering, inspiring and a huge confidence boost to hear what your music can sound like. Let us help you bring your vision to life.
